VTech Connect to Cell Phone
There is nothing worse than having a great conversation and then losing the call because you hit a dead spot in your house that has bad cell service. This has happened to me countless...
Ever since I can remember I've had a love for books. My favorite genre is fiction but to be perfectly honest I'll read just about anything that I can get my hands on. Out of sheer boredom I've ever picked up packages of food or condiment bottles and read the ingredients list or included blurb, just to have new reading material. I've admittedly always been puzzled by people who claim not to read because in my mind reading is such an important thing. Of course, now that I'm a Mom I've tried my best to ensure that my own children have grown up with a fondness for reading. I can't imagine a life where I had a child who would look at me and tell me that they don't read. It's such a crazy thing to think about!
I like to think I'm doing a pretty good job at instilling a love of books into my children because I'm often rewarded with requests for new books or the occasional bed time story. This makes me happier than you could even imagine. So, when I was given the opportunity to review Canticos: Los Pollitos aka Canticos: Little Chickies I was thrilled. In addition to the book I was also offered the chance to review the Los Pollitos app on iTunes, which I'll talk more about in a minute.
Cantico's Los Pollitos has fast become one of my children's favorite books. “Los Pollitos Dicen” or “Little Chickies Squeal” is one of the most popular songs in the Spanish speaking world, much like the English form of “Twinkle, Twinkle.” The English adaption of “Los Pollitos Dicen” is just as sweet and catchy as the Spanish version. It's also sure to catch the attention of your little ones, without fail. Cantico's Los Pollito's is the book adaption of the popular children's song and depicts the demanding nature of baby offspring as well as the unconditional love, care and warmth given to them by their mommies.
Come sing, play and learn with three adorable Little Chickies!
The Los Pollitos App on iTunes is a great way to engage your little ones. They can laugh, sing and play with the apps three little chicks. Inspired by the beloved Latino nursery rhyme, “Los Pollitos Dicen” the three little chickies peep and sing “pio, pio, pio” throughout a variety of creative play experiences that expose your curious little ones to not only fun music but also language and creativity too! Your little ones will love cracking the digital eggs to help the little chickies hatch and will sing along to the nursery rhyme in over 8 different languages. They'll even be able to decorate a bouquet of beautiful flowers for mother hen while strumming along to the notes of the song.
Age range 2-5; $2.99
iTunes: iOS 6.0 or later
Google Play: 4.4 Android and up
Canticos collects the most beloved nursery rhymes and songs from all over the Spanish-speaking world. Designed by parents with love and care, we bring to life our Canticos (little songs) through books, apps, sing-a-long videos and more. As a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), Encantos Media believes in creating meaningful media that makes the world a better place for kids of all ages. For every Canticos book or app purchased, a portion of the proceeds goes to provide books and apps to children in low-income communities.
Your children will love singing along and playing with the 3 three little chickies. Even better still, they'll enjoy reading the book and using the app in conjunction with each other so they'll be able to experience hours of nonstop fun and learning!
What a cute book!! My son would love the app I love that our kids have so many options to learn from.
This looks so cute. I love apps like this. Anything that helps my kids learn is good with me!
I love it when we can expose our children to other cultures and music is an excellent way to do just that. I have not heard of this sweet nursery rhyme before and may try it out at my program in the future. I teach baby sign language and often have moms asking me if they should speak both English and Spanish and also teach them to sign and I always say YES! This will be a good one for me to know so I can show them how connecting signs to something in Spanish helps their baby put an image to the word and connect the meaning.
