Things that never made me upset before would suddenly make me cry. It was strange and incredibly tough not to be able to put a name to what was going on.

Years ago and still even now, there is a stigma associated with depression and there weren't a lot of places to go to get information. While I still feel that stigma sometimes, I mostly ignore it. I was in my mid-20's when I realized what it was and began to take medicine for it. Taking medicine and making a few other changes has absolutely changed my life for the better.

  1. I also suffered from depression for many years. I got better with medication but I know what you mean about the stigma. I dealt with it even with family members. My parents told me to “snap out of it”. I wish it were that easy!
