I love wearing makeup and dressing up to attend events or go out with my husband for the evening. I love the ritual of getting dressed, putting on makeup and feeling great.
However, in the past few years I have noticed that my top lip seems to be getting thinner and thinner. It has been gradually but still enough so I notice and it kind of bothers me a little. I miss that fullness in my lips and I have also noticed some lines around my mouth that have been bothering me as well. I wanted to do something but I wasn’t sure what to do.
Did you know that the lips and the lines around the mouth, like other areas of the face, show signs of aging as you get older? Now I have a whole new reason to smile and that reason is Restylane® Silk!
My #GorgeousLips looked amazing and really made me feel good about myself. I would absolutely do it again. I am all for things that make me look and feel good about myself. In addition, I moisturize my skin several times per day and do what I can to combat the signs of aging.
That thinning of the lips and lines around the mouth that I talked about earlier? That is what happens as we age. Our lips thin. They lost shape and the vertical ines increase around the lips. Restylane® Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results.
Restylane® Silk: the first and only FDA-approved product specifically designed for lip enhancement and the smoothing of wrinkles around the mouth in patients 21 years of age and older. Restylane Silk is designed specifically to provide natural-looking results in these particular areas by using smaller, smoother particles than those used in other Restylane® products.
I was thrilled to visit the Restylane® Silk Make Up Lounge at Getting Gorgeous on July 15th and to be treated by the fabulous Dr. Whitney Bowe. She was very straightforward and told me exactly what to expect.
I also felt confident in her abilities. She shared that since everyone’s lips are different, that means that the ideal lips are different for each person as well.
There was a little swelling the first day which made my lips look a lot larger. The picture above was taken the first night. After using a little ice, the swelling went down completely and had pretty much gone away by the end of the second day.
Restylane® Silk smoothed the wrinkles around my mouth and made my lips look much fuller. I decided to put it to the test and see that actual results with my favorite red lipstick. I just happened to have taken a picture a few weeks prior to my treatment. Check out my before and after below.
You can see in the picture on the left how the top lip is much thinner. In the picture on the right, my lips are much fuller and the wrinkles are gone. It is now over a month later and my lips are still full. They look great and I feel great!

This looks and sounds like a great product. I need to try this I am starting to get a few wrinkles around my mouth.
I have really thin lips myself. This would cool to try out and see how my lips with it! It defiantly made your lips bigger! 🙂
.Yours turned out great! My swelling was better the next morning, but I only had her inject a little. I’m still happy with my lips!
This sounds like a really effective system. It’s great that this lasts for such a long time too!
I have recently started to notice the wrinkles and lines on my face. I would like to check this out for my lips. I definitely don’t want wrinkles!
I turned 40 a few weeks back and haven’t really been concerned with fine lines or wrinkles. I am noticing a few small lines here and there. I should address them before they get worse.
Your before and after photos really do show a substantial difference! I could definitely use some plumping! I have very thin lips and would love to have a little more to show!
aging sucks! I have all kinds of lines around my mouth and my lips are going to be gone soon! Haha Thanks for the info!
The lighter shades in this post were very pretty. I don’t do well with the darker colors…looks little silly on me.
Both colors looks good on your lips especially the bivrant one. I have never tried this brand before.
That is quite the difference with and without. I am going to have to get some of this!
I need this so bad! My lips have thinned so much as I’ve grown older. I use a lip gloss that helps temporarily, but it doesn’t last very long. I like that your lips look normal and not freaky. The Dr. did a really, really good job. Beautiful!
I can definitely see results! Glad you’re happier with your fuller lips
You gave some really great before and after photos, very impressive. Just might have to give this a try myself. Need a new look!
Looks so nice. Great system
oh yeah! You made me jealous! i love your lips 🙂 not too big and not too small… beautiful
Great results! I’ve noticed my lips changing shape recently too. Good to hear you are happy with the procedure and results. Might have to try it at some point 🙂
Thanks for sharing. This Restylane Silk did make your lips fuller. I am not yet ready for such procedure, though. I still need a little more convincing. I will keep this in mind when I have decided to go through with the procedure.
I’m glad your discomfort when away so quickly with it. And happy to hear it worked as intended too. 🙂
I love your before and after photos. I can really see the difference. This is a great product to try.
I have never heard of Restylane Silk before but I would love to try all of these shades. The wrinkles around the lips is something that does really bother me too so anything that can help this I would so try. Thanks for sharing.
Oh this looks great. I don’t have to worry about my lips, they are plump to begin with always have been. I remember my whole life people complimenting my lips. I’d still love to try it!
This looks like a great product. I love the results you got!
Fear of those dreaded lip lines are one of the many reasons I quit smoking five years ago. Great to know there is a solution available for when nature decides to run its course.
I don’t have thin lips, but this sounds like a great product for those that do.
Your lips do look great. I didn’t know there was something to make your lips fuller.
I love the lip colors you are wearing – it almost made me forget to look at the before and afters… I was shopping lip colors! 🙂 You’re looking fabulous!
Wow you can really tell a difference in your lips. They look great!
Your lips did look fuller. And fuller lips look good on you. Not sure if it will look on me though. 🙂
Your lips definitely look natural compared to what I’ve seen! A lot of my friends are fans of Botox and Restylane…I’m not quite there yet!
I hate wrinkles around my mouth – I will check this out. There might be one in my area.
What a wonderful way to bring the plump lips back. As I’m aging, I’m noticing a thinning – yikes! I’m checking into this now, thanks for sharing the info!
Wow! You can actually see the difference in the before and after photos! I am over the hill now, so this is something my lips really need 🙂
I am not really on the up and up about beauty treatments and products. This might be one worth checking out though.
Your lips are gorgeous both ways, but I can see the difference with Restylane. I am interested in seeing the difference in my own smile with it.
Your results look amazing. I will have to look into doing this for myself. I love the shade of lipstick on you.
This is REALLY cool. I have started noticing that I may need a plumper to rid my lips of fine lines. I will look into this product.
I have learned to embrace my thin lips over the years. However, it’s wonderful that there are alternatives for those who want to achieve fuller lips.
I avoided them at Getting Gorgeous, me and needles do NOT mix. After spending a long time in the hospital I will never allow anyone to come near me with an un-necessary needle. I personally don’t get all this ‘lip aging’ stuff, I like mine, they are not too thin or too full! 🙂
Oh neat! I was blessed enough to have ultra {read:way too} full lips but I know my mama is always talking about wanting fuller lips! I’ll have to share this with her. Side note: Your teeth are beautiful! I’m only a few days away from getting braces {at 29!} so I’m smile obsessed these days!
I’ve been feeling lately that my top lip needs to be a little fuller. What an interesting way to plump the lips.
Looks like a great product I will have to check it out. I ove trying out new products.
I’ve never considered plumper lips for myself, since mine are fairly fat, but lines concern me for sure.
I think you look gorgeous with the natural color. I’m happy to hear that this product really works. Word of mouth is the best way to trust a product!
Hehehe I have actually heard about this lol…. My Botox doc always tell me about the res silk, but I have been hesitant to give it a try lol. Your lips are looking pretty fab though so many I just need to bite my tongue and do it lol
This sounds like a wonderful product. I’m glad that it worked great for you. This product has you looking fabulous! I might have to get some for myself.
