Cranberry White Chocolate and Pecan Make It Yours™ Cookie Recipe #MakeItYours
We are all cookie lovers in this family. I remember being a kid and not being able to sleep at night. My dad would take my sister and me into the kitchen where we would all share cookies and milk. These are some of my favorite childhood memories. There is just something about having something as delicious as a freshly baked cookie, cold, refreshing milk and being in the company of loved ones. Who doesn't want to experience moments like that?
To this day, many, many years later I proudly carry on these traditions with my own children. I relish the opportunities that I have to give them their favorite cookies, ice cold milk and to have just have some uninterrupted to sit in their presence marveling at what amazing human beings they are becoming. Motherhood is one of the hardest and most fulfilling things that I have ever done. It never gets easier but it is always worthwhile.
Traditions are important to me because they become so interwoven into our lives and the traditions we start today are really key parts of their childhood. I firmly believe that it is never too late to start a new tradition. Several years ago I had an idea to start a Thanksgiving tradition. I wanted to rent a cabin every Thanksgiving with my sister, her kids, my dad and stepmother. I created a budget, found a place and made plans for everyone. We had a great time. This will be our fifth, and every year everyone still looks forward to it. It's our tradition.
Three years ago, we added a cookie baking contest to our 4-5 night stay. I mean, it's already Thanksgiving, why not add some additional baking, right? Well the kids and I love it. So do the adults because they reap all of the cookie rewards. There are six kids ranging in ages from 9-16. We make two batches of cookie dough and divide it up among the kids. They get to pick what they are adding and bake away. This goes on for three nights where all cookies are tasted and rated based on many factors.
The cookie contest is still going strong. This year we are bringing some really cool ingredients AND introducing the Country Crock® Make It Yours™ Cookie Recipe as our new, easy base. In fact, it's one easy cookie recipe and it's so easy that the kids are making it themselves. (I have fond memories of Country Crock® growing up. I loved it on my Ukrainian grandmother's German black bread.)
Back to the only cookie recipe you need this holiday. This one easy recipe and you are on your way to baking all of the cookies you can dream up! The Country Crock® Make it Yours™ Cookie Recipe makes the perfect base cookie dough and the possibilities are endless. You customize by adding 1-2 cups of your favorite mix-ins (such as chocolate chips, sprinkles, marshmallows).
Hope you all enjoyed my take on the Country Crock® Make It Yours™ cookie recipe! Now Amy of Mom Spark how do you mix it up and make it yours?
