Spring means more fresh produce which always signifies the end of winter for me. I love heading to a farmers market, grocery store or even a fruit stand to see what quality is like.I am so in love with creating new beverage recipes. Seriously just ask my husband. If you struggle to find a use for cantaloupe when it’s at its peak ripeness (grocery stores tend to put them on discount when they’re ripest and flood the produce department), this recipe is best when made with the sweetest cantaloupe you can find. Depending on the ripeness of your fruit, you may need more or less sweetness in the form of sugar in this recipe.
Cantaloupe Agua Fresca Drink Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups cantaloupe
- 1 lime, juiced
Directions
- Combine the water and sugar, and heat over medium heat until boiling, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat. Allow to cool completely.
- After the mixture has cooled, combine it in a blender with the cantaloupe and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
- Chill overnight, then serve.
