Did you know that today, April 7th is World Health Day?
Malnutrition is something that happens all over the world. 1 million children die each year from malnutrition. This is a scary and sad fact. In addition, 17 million children suffer from severe acute malnutrition which is a deadly condition if not treated.
Today on World Health Day, there is a way that we can all make a difference. The Nutrilite™ Power of 5 Campaign from Amway is part of a global effort to fight childhood malnutrition through the distribution of Nutrilite™ Little Bits™, a micronutrient supplement designed to provide children essential vitamins and minerals in their first 5 years of life.
This campaign is designed to bring more awareness of childhood malnutrition plus address the critical need for proper nutrition during the first 5 years, helping children survive and providing them a healthier start into adulthood. The campaign also offers a way that everyone can help.
Success! Working with nongovernmental organizations, Amway already distributes Nutrilite™ Little Bits™ in six countries. The goal is to expand that to 15 countries by 2017.
The Malnutritmapion Mapping Project, sponsored by Amway™, is a digital visualization of the global burden of malnutrition in all its forms in low-, middle- and high-income countries. The map was developed by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) with financial support from Amway™. It provides a broad perspective on the importance of proper nutrition in the health of people and economies, using data compiled from more than 30 countries.
This map really provides a breakdown of where in the world malnutrition occurs most. It details the transforming state of malnutrition and its manifestation in the double burden of under nutrition and overweight and obesity. Creation of the map is part of Amway’s commitment to the SUN Business Network, a United Nations effort to engage multiple sectors to work together to support SUN country national nutrition strategies.
Amway™ and its Nutrilite™ Power of 5 Campaign are committed to fighting childhood malnutrition. Amway has the nutrition expertise needed to address this issue. It cannot be addressed by one person or one company alone, but requires key partnerships.
I encourage you to get involved and show your support of the Nutrilite™ Power of 5 Campaign from Amway and find out how you can be part of World Health Day.
