How Often Should I Wash My Sheets?
It is really important to change your sheets often because those sheets accumulate sweat from our sleeping, we have skin particles that come off of our bodies while we sleep, hair that falls from our heads and bodies, and so many other germs and bacteria that our sheets pick up. How often you change your sheets and clean them kinda varies from person to person because one person may sweat more than someone else, or so many other factors that play into the cleanliness of your bed.
Kids Zip Sheets Review
It is recommended that you change your sheets at least once a week, possibly more depending on your situation. I know it can get pretty tiring having to wash your sheets so often, which is why I recommend having a few different sets of sheets on hand so you can rotate them out and not have to run the washing machine so often. Another time I recommend washing your sheets is after any time that you get sick or have a cold. Those sheets will soak up those sick germs and if you don't wash your sheets, you will just keep having a big circle of getting sick over and over. Real Simple Magazine states that you should wash sheets, “about once every one to two weeks, is recommended to maintain cleanliness and a healthy sleep environment.”
General Guidelines
- Weekly: This is the standard recommendation for most people.
- Every two weeks: If you sleep alone, don't have pets, and live in a cool climate, you might be able to stretch it to two weeks.

- You have pets: Especially if they sleep in your bed, wash sheets every 3-4 days.
- You live in a hot climate: Sweat can accumulate faster, necessitating weekly washes.

- You have allergies or asthma: Dust mites can trigger allergies, so wash sheets weekly.
- You sleep naked: Without clothes acting as a barrier, wash sheets more frequently.

Additional Tips
- Wash sheets in hot water (at least 130°F or 54°C) to kill dust mites and bacteria.
- Use a laundry detergent suitable for your sheets' material.
- Dry sheets completely in a dryer or on a clothesline to prevent mold growth.
- Consider having multiple sheet sets for easy rotation and washing.
So with all of this being said, get to changing those sheets! If you are someone who hardly ever changes the sheets on your bed because it is just something you don't think of, be sure to create this habit in your lifestyle because it is a good habit to have to stay clean in your home, and keep your bodies healthy and germ-free. Remember, these are general guidelines. Adjust the washing frequency based on your individual needs and preferences. We hope that this
