Malnutrition is something that happens all over the world. 1 million children die each year from malnutrition. This is a scary and sad fact. In addition, 17 million children suffer from severe acute malnutrition which is a deadly condition if not treated.
Today on World Health Day, there is a way that we can all make a difference. The Nutrilite™ Power of 5 Campaign from Amway is part of a global effort to fight childhood malnutrition through the distribution of Nutrilite™ Little Bits™, a micronutrient supplement designed to provide children essential vitamins and minerals in their first 5 years of life.
ABOUT THE NUTRILITE™ POWER OF 5 CAMPAIGN
The campaign tackles two crucial issues: raising awareness of childhood malnutrition and ensuring proper nutrition in a child's first five years. This critical period shapes their development and survival chances. But the good news is, everyone can help!
Amway is making a difference. They've partnered with NGOs to distribute Nutrilite™ Little Bits™ in six countries, and they're setting an ambitious goal: reach 15 countries by 2017.
MALNUTRITMAPION MAPPING PROJECT
The Malnutritmapion Mapping Project, sponsored by Amway™, is a digital visualization of the global burden of malnutrition in all its forms in low-, middle- and high-income countries. The map was developed by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) with financial support from Amway™. It provides a broad perspective on the importance of proper nutrition in the health of people and economies, using data compiled from more than 30 countries.
This map sheds light on the global struggle with malnutrition, highlighting areas most affected. It reveals a complex picture, with both undernutrition and overweight/obesity existing side-by-side in some regions. This map is part of Amway's commitment to the SUN Business Network, a UN initiative uniting diverse sectors to tackle malnutrition through national strategies.
Amway, through its Nutrilite™ Power of 5 Campaign, is actively fighting childhood malnutrition. We have the nutritional expertise to make a difference, but this battle requires collaboration. We can't win alone.
