5 Reasons to Vacation in Navarre Florida
With Memorial Day kicking off the official start to summer, many families are looking for where to plan their next great vacation. Recently I had a chance to visit the beautiful and little known Navarre Beach Florida, located in between Destin and Pensacola. Dubbed Florida’s “Best Kept Secret,” Navarre offers all of the features of a great Florida vacation, without some of the headaches you will run into with larger, more populated cities. Navarre Beach was rated among the Top 25 Beaches in America in the 2014 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice awards, yet continues to keep it’s hometown family atmosphere. Here are 5 Reasons to Vacation in Navarre Florida.
1. Gorgeous, affordable lodging.
Navarre and Navarre Beach offer beautiful lodging options for your family. ResortQuest offers condos, townhouses, and vacation homes with up to six bedrooms to accommodate your family vacation needs in a variety of price ranges. ResortQuest makes it easy for you to find the space you are looking for, and book online securely. You can also join the Wyndham Vacation Rentals' Key to the Beach program which offers exclusive deals and discounts on area attractions.
2. Excellent food choices!
When planning your family vacation, you want to make sure everyone is happy when it comes to mealtime. Many of the lodging options offer a full kitchen, and with both a Publix and Winn Dixie right in the heart of the city, you can easily stock up on everything your family needs. Navarre and Navarre Beach offer delicious restaurants such as Juana’s Pagodas and Sailor’s Grill, East River Smokehouse, and Lagerhead’s on the Gulf. Navarre even has it’s very own craft brewery offering locally brewed, hand-crafted beers. 3. The Panhandle Butterfly House.
This unique attraction makes the list all on it’s own. The Panhandle Butterfly House is a must-see for all ages. Celebrating their 20th year, The Panhandle Butterfly House is 100% volunteer run and houses dozens of beautiful butterflies that fly around you as you walk through their lush garden of Florida-friendly plants. You can even see tiny little caterpillars and chrysalis as you learn more about how important butterflies are to our environment.
4. One location – unlimited adventures!
One of the neatest things about Northwest Florida is that it offers unlimited opportunities for adventure. Right on the beach you can visit the Navarre Beach Pier – an impressive 1,545 foot long pier into the Gulf of Mexico, collect seashells along the National Seashore, or even go kayaking or jetskiing behind Juana’s Pagodas. Not in the mood for the beach? No problem – just a quick drive north offers adventures like tubing, canoeing, and even ziplining at Adventures Unlimited! There are even river trips, Stargazing, and Orienteering! How cool is that?
5. No need for a schedule.
Maybe the best part about Navarre and Navarre Beach is that while there are tons of things you can do, you do not need to have a schedule at all. You can spend all day simply Relaxing next to the pool, Gulf of Mexico, or Pensacola Bay. This laid back beach town is perfect for a romantic getaway for two or a huge family reunion.
