Watermelon Mint Martini

Winter blues got you down? Discuss your dream summer vacations or upcoming travel plans with a cocktail that’s made for sunny skies and warm weather: the watermelon mint martini. Sure, winter might prove a difficult time to find fresh melons, but you can always grab a bag of frozen fruit when the produce section is in short supply. Besides, once they’re blended into this delicious drink, you’ll hardly notice a difference anyway.

Simply add the watermelon, vodka, agave syrup, mint leaves, and fresh-squeezed lemon juice to a blender. You may also substitute honey for agave syrup. Blend on high until you achieve a smooth, liquid consistency. Then, add six to eight large ice cubes and the watermelon mixture to a martini mixer. Shake for three to four minutes before pouring the ice-cold beverage into martini glasses. Use a strainer to remove leftover bits of mint and serve immediately.

Dark Berry Spritzer

Perhaps you have a bottle of red wine that’s just too sweet to enjoy on its own. Aside from pairing it with a charcuterie board, there’s little you can do to offset the super-sugary taste. Unless, of course, you use it as a mixer in this fruity cocktail. Make dark berry spritzers with a bag of frozen berries, blueberry-flavored seltzer, and the aforementioned wine for you and the girls. They’re sure to love the light, fruit-forward flavor — and the refreshing treats at the bottom of the glass.

First, add frozen berries to an empty rocks or wine glass. Then, add six ounces of sweet red wine. Top with two ounces of seltzer, stir gently and serve. The berries will thaw as you sip, and you can enjoy them when you’re finished drinking. No need to add ice! The fruit will keep your cocktails nice and cold the entire time.

12 Days of Christmas Cookie Cocktails

Tropical Ginger Beer

If you and the ladies wish you were on a beach somewhere — and who wouldn’t this time of year? — whip up a batch of tropical ginger beer. Flavors like coconut, pineapple, and lime will make you feel like you’re on a warm, tropical island sunbathing in a lounge chair. A girl can dream, can’t she? This recipe calls for dark rum, but you can easily use whatever you have on hand. Just be sure to use fresh lime juice and unsweetened pineapple juice or your cocktails might taste a bit strange. Simply add all your ingredients to a glass and fill it with ice. Stir to combine and enjoy. If you’re feeling extra fancy, add a pineapple skewer on top before serving.

The Classic Mudslide

Maybe you and the girls are craving something a little more indulgent. Enter dessert cocktails. Whether you’re looking for another reason to enjoy some chocolate or want a drink you can enjoy after dinner, a dessert cocktail like this classic mudslide should do the trick. While the word “mudslide” might make you think of milkshake-style boozy cocktails, this one couldn’t be more sophisticated. Of course, you can make it frozen, but if you want to impress your fellow mamas, you’ll serve it shaken in chocolate-rimmed coupes. Garnish with shaved chocolate to make this decadent drink even classier — and tastier.

First, spread some chocolate sauce or syrup on a plate and carefully dip the rim of each glass. Place the vodka, coffee liqueur, Irish cream, and heavy cream in a shaker. Add two handfuls of ice and shake until well combined. Strain into your coupes and serve.

Bunny PEEPS Easter Martini

Chai Hot Toddy

It’s still winter, which means you have some time to enjoy a few hot, boozy drinks before warm weather arrives. If espresso isn’t your thing or you’re afraid it’ll keep you up all night, make chai hot toddies instead. This warm, subtly spicy cocktail is perfect for sipping and is so easy to make.

Simply boil eight chai tea bags in six cups of water to make your base. Meanwhile, heat the milk and sugar to a boil, remove from heat, and add the cinnamon and vanilla. Combine the milk mixture with your chai, add the spiced rum, and stir. Ladle into mugs and garnish with ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks. Make a large batch and keep it in a slow cooker to enjoy throughout the evening.

The whole point of having a girl’s night is to relax and have fun, so don’t worry too much about the booze. As long as you have one or two recipes up your sleeve, you’re sure to have a great time, so don’t sweat the small stuff. Besides, your friends are here to see you, not to judge how fun or festive the drinks are. We hope that this Ladies Night Cocktails post inspires you.
