Brinno TLC200 Time Lapse and Stop Motion HD Video Camera
The Brinno TLC200 Pro HDR Time Lapse Video Camera is meant for people who want more professional results than what they can achieve with a standard camera. Aside from having many professional features, there are also a number of accessories that can improve the functionality of the camera.
The TLC200 features a 1.44-inch LCD display in the back that allows users to line up shots and accurately target the subject of the video. The display itself isn’t HD, but the image is clear enough to set nearly any shot. This screen is only for setting up the shot or selecting features. There is no playback feature.
There are two available resolutions. Users can set images or videos to either 1,280-by-720 pixels or 640-by-480 pixels. The former is HD, but it will require more memory.
Users can output the recorded images as either an AVI video or a series of JPEG images. AVI is the default selection, but users can switch to an image-based output with a few clicks.
The controls are made to be as user-friendly as possible. Users just have to line up the shot and set the time interval. When the video is finished, stop the shot and the camera will produce a video or series of images.
The TLC200 can be mounted on a tripod. If a tripod isn’t available or is too cumbersome for the shot, then the camera can be laid flat on the ground.
This camera utilizes an advanced power management system that allows the batteries the last for several months. The camera itself is powered either with four AA batteries or a DC five-volt battery.
Users can select a time interval as short as one second or as long as 24 hours and anything in between. Milliseconds are not available.
All of the videos and images will be saved to the camera’s SD card. Even though the camera has a mini USB slot, this is only for powering the unit. Users can watch videos by removing the card, inserting it into a card reader and uploading it to a computer.
There are two accessories that improve the camera’s functionality. The ATL045 wide-angle lens allows users to have wider shots. The ATS100 Shutter Release Cable allows users to more effectively create stop-action movies.
The Brinno TLC200 Pro HDR Time Lapse Video Camera provides various resolutions and time selections for users who want to create their own time lapse and stop motion videos. The battery life will last for months and the SD card ensures that users can record hours of video. A computer must be used with this unit so that the user can watch his or her recorded videos or images.
