The Resort at Paws Up in Montana

The Resort at Paws Up in Montana is a ranch that’s located on 37,000 acres of wilderness in Greenough. It’s a working ranch where a few hundred elk and Black Angus cows wander the fields. This resort offers personalized service and many amenities and activities. There’s a general store on the property that sells apparel, gifts, books, art, sporting goods and more.

LODGING

Paws Up resort has 28 vacation homes with two, three and four bedrooms. The Big Timber Homes, Wilderness Estates and Black Foot River Lodge have great rooms with stone and timber fireplaces. Each home has a variety of amenities such as a washer and dryer, hairdryer, microwave and dishwasher. All the homes have nice views of the countryside.

GLAMPING

Another lodging option is luxury camping in tents with furnishings, private bathrooms, fans and heat. They call this Glamping and it lives up to its name as the world's most luxury, glamorous camping.

DINING

There are two Montana restaurants on the property at Paws Up resort. Local ingredients are often used by the chef. The Pomp restaurant has cuisine such as roasted quail, beef tenderloin and bison pot roast. The Trough restaurant offers soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and pizza. There’s also a full service bar called the Tank, which has many drink selections. A chuck wagon ride is offered with a chuck wagon meal at the end of the ride. The meal includes food such as all natural chicken, angus prime rib and vegetables.

SPA TOWN

Paws Up resort has a Spa Town, which is a group of white tents located in the outdoors among the trees. Welcome tents feature full baths and showers. Individual treatment tents have a heated massage table and a sink. Different types of massages and treatments are offered. Spa town also has a fitness tent with a variety of equipment.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Many activities are available at Paws Up resort. Activities during the summer include a cattle drive, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, fly fishing and lake activities. Winter activities include dog sledding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and indoor equestrian lessons. Horse-drawn sleigh rides go through forests and over the hills. Three types of river trips can be taken. These include the quiet Clearwater canoe trail or floating in a raft or inflatable kayak down the Blackfoot river with class 1 or 2 rapids.
