iPhone 5

Apple's iPhone 5 is the latest phone apple company has on the market at the moment. It has an aluminum casing, operates on iOS 6 and A6 processor developed by apple. iPhone 5 comes in two colors which are toned. There is slate and black, and silver and white. The white model is storm trooper while the black model is Darth Vader. 

DISPLAY SIZE & FEATURES.

The screen is 4-inch with display aspect ratio of 16:9 and in-cell display of 326ppi. The display is LCD which is LED-backlit which combined is with in-cell.

NETWORKING.

For wireless networking, it is possible to use 802.11n on 5GHz as well as 2GHz on the iPhone 5. This is possible because this phone has a module for Wi-Fi known as Murata and the Bluetooth is still 4.0 just like in the predecessors

It comes with LTE 4G connections which can run up to 100Mbps. There are also radio chipsets which are Qualcomm RTR8600 and MDM9615. This support for LTE 4G can support three models which are; one CDMA and two GSM.

CAMERA.

The camera is 8 megapixels like in iphone 4. There is an Image Signal Processor which allows for noise reduction during shot taking. The camera on the front face is 1.2 megapixels which is an improvement on iPhone 4 which was 0.3 megapixels and has a feature for face recognition and has illumination from the backlight. The iSight surface is made of sapphire crystal to resist scratch.

The iPhone 5 has three mics. The first one at the bottom, the second at the top while the third is in between the LED flash and iSight camera at the back. All these cameras can function simultaneously.

OPERATING SYSTEM.

The interface on iPhone 5 on iOS 6 improved than on iPhone 4. The number of home screen icons is larger because the aspect ratio is 16:9 and 1136* 640 pixels. The processor running on iPhone 5 is A6 processor from Apple. The speed of the processor is 1GHz and RAM of 1GB. This phone comes in different options in terms of internal storage, that is; 64 GB, 16 GB and lastly 8GB.

BATTERY LIFE.

This phone has a lithium-ion battery. This battery is 1440 mAh and has a talk-time of approximately of 8 hours on 3G networks. The approximate stand by time is 225 hours. While browsing, this phone can be used for 8 hours on 3G network and 10 hours on Wi-Fi. iPhone 5 can support video playback for 10 hours and audio for 40 hours. On LTE, this phone has a standby of up to 8 hours.

DESIGN.

It measurements in millimeters are; 58.6 wide, 123.8 tall and a deepness of 7.6 millimeters. This means it is thinner and lighter than its predecessors which are iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s.

On its front is a gorilla glass while at the back, it has a pigmented glass.

HARDWARE.

The off/on button is located at the top; on the left is a button for selecting either ring mode or silent mode. Below this button, is the button for volume control which also functions as the camera shutter.

The main speaker which is located at the bottom has a transducer of five magnets is an improvement on earlier models on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4Gs.
