Directions

  1. Use the sponge and the white paint to cover the entire face. The paint should sit for fifteen minutes. Then any additional coats or touch-ups can be added.
  2. The next step requires a brush and blue paint. Starting about half an inch under the eye, draw a straight line from the corner to the end of the eyebrow.
  3. Starting at the corner again, draw another straight line toward the forehead. Stop about one inch up above the eyebrow. Follow the curve of the eyebrow until the two lines are connected. Make sure the top line remains above the eyebrow. Now fill in the shape. Follow this same step for the other eye. Rinse the brush and dry with a paper towel.
  4. Using the brush and black paint, outline the blue shape. Keep the lines as straight and even as possible. Then draw small, curved lines where the actual eyebrows are. Rinse and dry the brush.
  5. Now use the red paint to draw a circle on the end of the nose and fill it in.
  6. Draw red circles on each cheek about the size of a quarter and fill in.
  7. The last step is drawing a smile. Remember, a clown's smile is huge! With the red paint, begin in the center of the chin and draw a curved line to the corners of the mouth. Extend the line about an inch from the corners. Draw a straight line right up above the top lip and connect the two lines. Fill in the mouth, including the lips.
  8. Rinse and dry the brush. Use the black to create the two small, upturned lines on each side of the painted mouth. Now watch everyone ooh and ahh over this little clown!

Directions

  1. Using the sponge, cover the entire face and neck with the green paint. Allow this to sit for fifteen minutes. Then add any necessary touch-ups.
  2. Mix a small amount of the white and black paint to create a medium gray. Ask the child to scrunch up their face. Use the second sponge to dab the gray color under the eyes. This creates the old, sunken effect.
  3. Use black paint and a makeup brush to paint the lips and eyebrows. This may take several coats. Rinse the brush and dry with a paper towel.
  4. Gather some of the green color about the size of a small bead on the end of the makeup brush. Apply this to the bottom left corner of the chin. Dip the brush into a cup of water and very gently work the brush over the ‘wart' until it is smooth. Do not use too much water or press too firmly as this will flatten the wart.

Painting a Perfect Dracula

Every little kid must be this famous bloodsucker at least once. This is such a fun one because…fake blood!

Supplies

Mother and son in Halloween costumes having fun with makeup, mother paints a pattern on her son's face with a paintbrush, boy smiling and looking at camera, happy halloween together

Directions

  1. Use the sponge to cover the entire face with white paint. Allow the paint to sit for fifteen minutes and then check for areas that need touchups.
  2. Get a little black paint on the tip of the sponge. Apply to the soft section under the eyes as if patting the paint on. Do not expect the color to be jet black. It should mix with the white to create a dark gray so the eyes will appear sunken.
  3. Then color the lips black. Next, create drip marks with the fake blood down each corner of the mouth. Now this little Dracula is ready to take a bite out of some treats!
  4. With the current vampire craze, boys and girls may be inspired to portray modern vampires. Regular makeup can be used to create this character. Cover the face and neck in white baby powder to achieve the required paleness. For the girls, apply natural eye shadow colors and red lipstick. For boys, apply a small amount of red face paint to the lips. Remember, this modern description of vampires always describes their beauty as perfect.
  5. These clowns, witches, and vampires will be a big hit! The three classic looks are easy to create and will turn a simple costume into a realistic (as much as it can be for Halloween) work of art!
