Schwinn Boy Meets Girl in Bike Life Video
I am an avid bike rider and so is every one else in my family. We love our bikes and are always on them. In fact, we have twice as many bikes as we...
My family loves board games. We have over 350 of them and it takes a lot for a new game to make it to the table. That being said, Druid City Games recently sent us a few of their best sellers to unpack and try out. Here are our thoughts, and experiences with their games.
Alice in Wonderland has always been one of my family’s favorite movies, so it was no surprise that we were super excited to try out Wonderlands War.
Wonderlands War is an area control game that takes place in wonderland… more specifically, at the tea party! Players begin as one of their favorite characters, I always choose the Cheshire Cat, and must gain supporters in the war. In order to win the war, you will be tasked to complete quests in the form of set collections or region bonuses.
My family has been loving Wonderlands War! We really enjoy the asymmetric aspects that the factions provide. Asymmetric games are always well liked by the family since we can play the same game a bunch of times and still have new outcomes each time.
Overall, Wonderlands War intrigued us with the title, but kept out focus with the amazing game play it provides. Make sure to check out all of the versions available, and the chips set upgrades they offer, which I believe enhance the gameplay tremendously!
Tidal Blades is a competitive tournament played out over 5 days and nights. During this tournament, players are competing as heroes with the aim to be named a Tidal Blade. As a hero you will be moving and taking different actions. You can build your hero by unlocking powers and gaining dice.
An aspect of Tidal Blades: Heroes of the Reef I really enjoy is the Character board that each player gets as well as the maps themselves. The character boards are a hub for most of the information you need to manage in the game including your dice pool, Focus, Spirit, Synergy, Resilience, and more! Eko is easily my favorite hero to play as… just an absolute cuteness overload!
I think it's safe to say this is our family’s overall favorite game from Druid City Games. We have seen it on the table and it’s always a hit for our game nights!
In Tidal Blades Banner Festival, players will be competing to generate the most profit by selling goods, creating ties with suppliers, and making proper bets at the watercraft race. Along the way you can utilize cards to help accomplish your goals.
Tidal Blades Banner Festival is perfect for people who are interested in Tidal Blades, but want a less complex and quicker game for the table.
I really enjoyed how Tidal Blades Banner Festival was reminiscent of Heroes of the Reef, while establishing its own place on our shelf.
Now if you know me, you know I love a good tile laying game. Just something about tiles scratches an itch in my brain like no other game. Sorcerer City is described as “deck building meets tile laying” and I have to say I agree.
In Sorcerer City, you are competing against your fellow architects to gain the most money, influence, magic and victory! Beware, along the way monsters will arise and try to attack your city! In the end, the best city wins!
I really enjoyed Sorcerer City for a multitude of reasons. The tile laying aspect is of course a big positive for me, but the addition of the way the “puzzle” of this game is set up, really boosts it to the next level. The rules are also pretty straight forward which is always a greatly appreciated aspect, making it not super difficult to teach a new addition to game night.
While the previous games all have a hobby feel to them, Barnyard Round up is perfect for a quick game, or to bring with us when we travel.
Your goal in barnyard roundup is to collect the most animals… your honesty is completely up to you, as bluffing is the name of the game.
Barnyard Round Up has proven itself at game nights for my nieces and nephews as it’s not a complex game, and the art is adorable! If your family enjoys family card games, Barnyard Round Up is definitely for you!
Druid City Games doesn’t only offer games, but also super stylish apparel centered around their games! My family got to pick out a few shirts to try out and my son has been loving his Wonderlands War shirt! The shirts are super cute and are a great gift for the holiday season! Oh and I almost forgot… they’re super comfy!!!
While the products above have been gifted for the review, the opinions are all my own.
Thank you so much Druid City Games for sending these games and apparel for the review!
