Must Have Travel Apps

Travel Apps Must Have

Years ago, we didn't set out on road trips or travel and have apps to help us out. Instead we relied on things like maps and then Mapquest or sometimes the Internet. Well now we have all of that and more. Here are some of the best Must Have Travel Apps out right now.

GASBUDDY

This is the number one travel app as it shows you the gas prices in a 100+ mile radius. You can view the prices as a list or on the map. If you are driving down the highway, the app will give you driving directions to the gas station as it is integrated with Google Maps. It updates quite frequently and has a high accuracy rate on gas prices.

TRIPIT

TripIt helps you to organize your travel itinerary and plans into one easy location. Forward your flight info, car rental confirmation, and everything else to TripIt. It has your daily itinerary laid out in an easy format with all your confirmation numbers, directions and maps, plus the most important part – dates and times of everything.

LIFE360

This app is very useful for travelers to keep in contact with their families and for emergencies. You can create a travel circle and everyone in that circle can see where you are in the world. No more calls to see how far out you are or where you are in the airport – you can see it all on the app from the minute you get off the plane to when you are at the curb ready to be picked up. The best part of the app though is in the Pro version where you can press the Emergency button and in 10 seconds it sends out a message to everyone in your travel circle plus gets a Live Advisor on the phone. The Live Advisor can direct emergency responders directly to you, let you know where the nearest gas station is, and access your emergency profile and notify those of your situation.

SKYSCANNER

For those looking at flights, check out SkyScanner. You can set up an alert between destinations and the time frame you would like to fly. It will send out alerts when the prices drop or rise up. You can even pin the the search to your start screen on mobile to get the latest updates on price changes. It aggregates flight prices from travel sites and directly from the airlines, so you know you are getting the lowest price on the market.
