Q & A with THE LITTLE MERMAID Writers/Directors, John Musker and Ron Clements
(Note to readers: I was hosted by Disney Studios to help review and promote the movie. I was not otherwise compensated and my opinions remain my own.)
The Little Mermaid movie could have been a very different production without the witty writing style of John Musker and Ron Clements, and their willingness to listen to feedback from others, including music producer Howard Ashman.
The movie, which was introduced to the world back in 1989, is being re-released on DVD in October and the talented writing/director duo of Musker and Clements sat down for an interview with me and a few other writers recently. They answered questions ranging from how Ariel was named to what to do if you’ve ever dreamed of having Disney produce a movie you wrote.
You might be very surprised by what they had to share. Take a listen.
In the meantime, don’t miss the re-release of The Little Mermaid on Blu-ray DVD this October. Disney is promising brighter color and with additional scenes!
