INTRODUCING VIVA LA ‘RITA AT BAHAMA BREEZE

Bahama Breeze’s Viva La ‘Rita is coming up and there is no better way to get ready for the fun than with National Margarita Day this Sunday. From National Margarita Day (February 22nd) to Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), Bahama Breeze will be celebrating the margarita in a fresh new way so come celebrate with their new margaritas, Friday night parties, giveaways and live music during Viva La ‘Rita!

There will be four core specialty margaritas at Bahama Breeze that you can enjoy.

As the weather warms up, peaches ripen and become sweetest in early summer. Take advantage of that sweetness with this peach mint margarita recipe, supplemented with a slight amount of sugar if desired. The riper the peaches you use in this recipe, the less sugar you’ll need.

PEACH MINT MARGARITA

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 fresh peaches, diced
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • ice as needed
  • 4 shots tequila
  • 2 shots of triple sec
  • soda water as needed
  • mint to garnish
  • 3 limes, quartered

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine the diced peaches, water, and sugar in a sauce pot over low heat.
  2. Cook on low for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the peaches have softened and can be easily mashed.
  3. Remove the peaches from the heat and allow them to cool completely.
  4. When the peaches have cooled, mash them until mostly smooth.
  5. Place a small layer of the peach pulp at the bottom of four glasses. Fill each glass with ice.
  6. Add one shot of rum to each glass, then fill with soda water.
  7. Add mint and lime as garnish, stir, then serve.

I will be attending Viva La ‘Rita and recapping the experience, our good times and of course yummy margaritas in another post!

Visit you local Bahama Breeze between Feb 22 and May 5th to experience Viva La ‘Rita for yourself!
