4 Tips for Smoothing Rough Elbows & Knees4 Tips for Smoothing Rough Elbows & Knees

For the longest time I suffered from having really rough elbows and knees. It seemed like no matter I did, how much lotion I applied, I still couldn't get those babies nice and smooth. Well, after doing some research and figuring out what to do with this problem, I finally have smooth elbows and knees. Today I am going to be sharing with you tips and tricks to get smooth knees and elbows. If you are suffering from these issues be sure to keep reading.

Vaseline is Your Friend

When it comes to dry and rough knees and elbows I really recommend using Vaseline to help you out. It will not only help to moisturize the dry area but you can actually apply the Vaseline to your dry patches. Next jump in the shower and the Vaseline will actually help to keep that area moisturized and act as almost a shield so that your skin doesn't get quite so dry after having a shower.

Exfoliate

If you suffer from extremely dry skin, it is so important to exfoliate at least once or twice a week with a nice sugar scrub, lip scrub or body scrub. This helps to take off any dry dead skin and allows your skin to look cleaner, and more moisturized. You can exfoliate by getting a body scrub and loofah and simply washing your body with that once or twice a week instead of your normal body wash. I am particularly fond of these Kiloline Exfoliating Loofah Pads and my husband loves the Aquis Exfoliating Back Scrubber.

Drink Plenty of Water

Drinking a lot of water is so important when it comes to your skin. If you aren't getting enough water, your skin will start to show it by looking extremely dry and scaly. Be sure that you are drinking the appropriate amount of water in your day for your body type and I can guarantee you will notice a difference in your skin. Grab your favorite water bottle and keep it with you at all times.

Moisturize Often

Lastly, it is important to moisturize your skin regularly. I try to moisturize in the mornings before I get dressed for the day, and after any time that I have been in water such as the shower, washing your hands, or swimming. My favorite moisturizer is this Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. When you get into water, it can be extremely drying for the skin…kind of ironic right? So just make sure to always have some lotion on hand and moisturize when you get out.

I know what it is like to have dry patches of skin and it doesn't look or feel good. I have found that these simple things have helped me out a ton lately with my skin and I know they will help with yours as well, so give them a try and see how they work for you.
