DISCOUNT TIRE'S TEEN DRIVING SAFETY CAMPAIGN

Being a new driver is exciting and it also comes with a lot of responsibility.  As the parent of a newly driving teen, there are several things that you can do to prepare and teach your teen to drive.

1. Sign your teen up for safe-driving course.
Check the Internet in your local community and you can find a plethora of classes available. Many insurance companies even offer discounts to teens who have completed the course.

2. Make certain that your teen drives the safest car available.
This is something to definitely consider. Check safety ratings and cars and get the absolute safest car that you can afford.

3. Always know where they go.
My kids have no choice but to let us know where they are all times. They are required to check in and to let us know when they get home.

4. Set a good example.
Have problems with road rage? Drive too fast? Well reign it in and remember that you set the example for your children.

5. Set the rules.
Letting your teen know the rules upfront is always a good thing. In order to keep driving priveleges, our teen must maintain an A-B average in school, must obey all driving laws (there are devices that track speed) and must always be home before curfew.

6. Teach your teen to check their tire air pressure at home as well as at a local Discount Tire.
This will definitely give you peace of mind that they are driving with safe tires.
