Getting Crafty with the Sony VAIO Tap 20 All-in-One PC

We are a pretty crafty family. I love making things for birthdays, holidays and more. In fact, we hand make all of our cards throughout the year. I especially love making Valentine’s Day cards and birthday cards because it gives us the opportunity to really personalize things.

Sony and Intel recently provided us with the VAIO Tap 20 All-in-One PC to try out in our home. If you haven’t seen the Tap 20, you should really check it out. It is a cool hybrid of a computer that is portable and acts like a tablet but better at the same time. We all fight over it!

From the day that it arrived, my kids went crazy. They love Family Paint. They can draw head to head and we even played a few games of charades but had each child draw to see who guessed first.

ABOUT FAMILY PAINT

Family Paint™ software provides comprehensive drawing tools including size-adjustable colored pencils, crayons, markers, stamps and an eraser. On the VAIO® Tap, you can choose a split screen so more than one person can join in the fun. Fingertapps™ Organizer lets you post voice messages, photos, drawings, and video messages online to help the whole family stay organized and aware of everyone’s schedule.

My nephew is turning 9 in a few weeks so we decided to try to make a card for him. Here is what it turned out like:

HOW WE MADE THE CARD IN FAMILY PAINT

Supplies Needed:

Parchment card stock

White printer paper

Color printer

Glue Stick

Skewer (we use the kind we barbecue with)

  1. You need to cut the card stock in the shape of the envelope. Parchment cardstock can be found at most craft supply stores and looks kind of like this.

(I already had the cardstock above from a previous project)

  1. Using Family Paint decide what font and colors you want to use plus what you want to say in your card.

  2. We got extra crafty with ours and decided to make my nephew a card that gave him a cool mustache to wear.

  3. Print out the messages and rip them around the edges. You can see how we did that above.

  4. Using the glue stick, glue everything onto the card like above.

  5. Let the card dry and then sign or decorate as you choose.

  6. Add card and stick to the envelope for a really birthday greeting.

  7. Try it out for yourself!

  1. My daughter loved the Family Paint program as well. It’s so kid friendly. She has drawn so many cute pictures so far. That’s great how your kids can draw together. My kids are so far apart in age that they don’t play together like that.
