vailGetting the Most Out of Your Vacation

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating. Right? I know that is why I go on vacation and I think that is the reason that the majority of us go on vacation. I always welcome the opportunity for some rest and relaxation but I also want to get the most that I can out of any vacation. I want to get more! Most Americans are so distracted by life that they don't take the time to truly enjoy their vacation. If you're heading on vacation, don't waste the opportunity. Here are a few tips on getting the most out of your vacation and some advice on how you can get more:

Say goodbye to the distractions

I think the best way to get the most out of your vacation is to say goodbye to the distractions. What's the point of vacation if you are attached to your phone the whole time? Taking some time away from the electronics will truly help you more than you know. Make the most of your vacation by devoting time to fun activities rather than mindless distractions.

Experience everything you can

If you're headed to a resort or somewhere with a lot of scenery or things to do, experience everything you can. Resorts are a great way to get a whole lot of vacation into a small time frame. Usually with resorts, there is fine dining, activities, and so much more. Taking in every experience is a great way to get the most out of your vacation.

Balance out taking pictures

The only bad thing about taking pictures is that you're so focused on getting good pictures that it can take away from your vacation. Take pictures, but also take some time away from the pictures. Enjoy what you're experiencing and do it without being behind the lens. This will be a tough one, I know.

Do something you've never done before

Staying in your comfort zone isn't always fun, it may feel safe, but it's not always fun. Get the most out of your vacation by doing something you've never done before. Skydiving? Hiking up an amazing mountain? Skiing for the first time? I challenge you to do something that you wouldn't normally do, this will make your vacation totally worthwhile.

Go somewhere you've never been

This is a challenge I'm accepting for myself this year. I plan on going somewhere, like a mountain in the Vail Resorts portfolio. A place that I have never been but that I'm super excited to experience. Vail is just one of eight amazing resorts around the country from this company. I'd say my next vacation is looking pretty epic, don't you? Visit This is What Epic Looks Like to plan your next vacation and learn how you can get more. I'm excited about the skiing, but also all the new things I will experience on the way.

Getting away from the everyday is something I've been wanting to do for so long. Now I feel like I can concentrate on experiencing vacation, instead of just going on vacation. If you are like me, then your next trip will focus around getting the most out of your vacation. From luxury experiences to the above-and-beyond spots that make it extra special, Vail Resorts has you covered. Happy travels!
