Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay

It was our honeymoon and we got to choose anywhere in the world that we wanted to go. We chose Bali. Beautiful Bali.

Indonesia is a country which constitutes of around 18,000 beautiful islands. The country is located at the borders of Indian and Pacific Oceans and reports an estimated population of 195 million people. The island of Bali is considered the tourism capital of Indonesia. Located just 15 minutes from the The Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is The Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay.

Part of the family of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, this resort is equipped with all the facilities that are mandatory for a five star hotel. There are 156 villas and private residence rentals, each with private plunge pools providing views of palm-fringed Jimbaran Bay. Getting around the resort is done with staff driven golf carts. Simply call for a ride and you are picked up within minutes.

Rooms are fully air-conditioned with their own courtyard and outdoor living areas with lush green gardens plus outdoor showers.

Consider visiting the oceanside recreation area complete with with complimentary Hobie cats, windsurfers, ocean kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment and aqua shoes. The resort also provides guests with a host of activities including a beautiful infinity edge pool with hot & cold whirlpools, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, synthetic grass tennis courts and a cooking school.

One of the best parts of our honeymoon had to be the amazing spa treatments (provided daily from 9-9). “Spa treatments…incorporate essences of plants, aromas of healing flowers, elements from the ocean and Balinese and Indonesian herbs and spices – all blended from traditional recipes into modern-day beauty rituals.”

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay CabanaOur package provided a daily spa treatment for both of us including a couple of in-room treatments. There are eight comfy treatment rooms, three spa suites with double massage beds and Swiss shower which make up the 10,760 square foot facility. These suites face a garden patio with cascading shower and a big soaking tub. Additional services like manicures, pedicures and hair cut are also available. The Spa Juice Bar offers tea, coffee, the local herbal drink jamus and other fresh juices and shakes.

Delicious Italian-inspire cuisine is served in Taman Wantilan’s two open-air pavilions while overlooking Bali's distant volcanoes and Jimbaran Bay.

Warung Mie, the Old World inspired noodle house with the open kitchen and surrounding exotic water garden, was one of my favorite places to dine. The restaurant centered around a hand-carved antique Javanese communal dining table. It was a thing of beauty. Both the food and the place.

The Pool Terrace Cafe was perfect for breakfast, lunch and the occasional snack. The Terrace Bar and Lounge is another option with a fabulous Tapas style menu. In-Villa dining, of course, is always available.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay AirThe thing is, this was a once in a lifetime trip. It was our honeymoon and it was the most memorable, decadent experience of my life. But during the past several years, I have had this overwhelming urge to return to beautiful Bali. Only I want to bring mychildren.

The Four Seasons, in my opinion, has really stepped their children's programs and offerings. I would absolutely love the chance to share this place with my kids. This place where there father and I first began our married life. I think that my kids would love it for so many reasons. The Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay is definitely on my Family Travel Bucket List.
