DIY Crumpled Paper Christmas Tree Craft

This craft can be done a few different ways. We used craft paper for this but I have used tissue paper several times.

Supplies

• Green craft paper  |   dark green craft paper
• Neon green tissue paper  |  Green tissue paper  |  Origami tissue paper  |  Mossy greens tissue paper  |  Darker greens tissue paper
• Scissors
• Craft glue or hot glue
• Embellishments: assorted buttons in festive colors  |  various holiday buttons
• Glitter stars

Pro tip: Make a blue tissue paper tree and use these cool snowflake embellishments.

Directions

1. Determine the size of the Christmas tree craft and trace a triangle shape on a craft paper as per the determined size. Cut out the traced triangle. 
2. Grab some green colored craft papers and cut them into small square pieces. I’ve cut mine into 1 inch x 1 inch square pieces. 
3. Take a square green paper and crumple it into a small ball shape.  One by one crumple the rest of the green paper pieces into ball shapes. 
4. Glue the crumpled green balls on the triangle paper cut out. Starting from the bottom side of the triangle, apply glue on the triangle paper and then place the crumpled papers on the glued area. 
5. Continue to glue the crumpled paper on the triangle in rows. Once you’ve glued 3 or 4 rows of a colored crumpled paper grab a different shade of green colored crumpled papers and start gluing them next to the previously glued ones. 
6. Continue to glue crumpled papers on the triangle shaped paper until it is filled nicely. 
7. Done filling the triangle paper? Now decorate the tree with craft decor items (colourful buttons, pompoms, sequins etc.).
