Check out One Day at a Time Streaming on Netflix #JoinTheFamilia #ODAAT
As a child of the 80's, I pretty much grew up watching One Day at a Time. I loved the characters and the way that they interacted with each other. I could relate to pretty much all of the characters in one way or another I found the humor in the show to be exactly what I like. I love how they were a family no matter what happened.
Many of the television shows that I grew up watching were wholesome family, friendly comedies that my entire family would watch together when the shows were on each week. This is one of the ways that we connected as a family by watching some of our favorite shows together.
One Day at a Time
One of my favorite shows from my childhood is now back in an all new way and people are loving it. One Day at a Time stars Justina Machado and Rita Moreno as a multi-generational family living together under one roof. I can totally relate to this because I have the same type of household. My mother moved in with us years ago and we all live together.
The show follows single mother Penelope (played by Justina Machado) and Lydia (played by Rita Moreno) as they navigate life living in a busy, multi-generational household. I love the cultural differences between my family and the One Day at a Time family is really fun. I love how close the family is and how they really make room for each other's differences.
I can also relate because I grew up in a military family and my dad retired from the Army. In addition, any chance to see Rita Moreno means that I will be watching. I loved watching her as I was growing up as well.
About One Day at a Time
This new Netflix show comes from legendary producer Norman Lear, known for his hit-TV shows Sanford and Son, All in the Family, The Jefferson, as well as the original One Day at a Time. This new take on the original show follows a Latino-American family and their cross-generational experiences.
The series, a multi-camera comedy, follows three generations of the same Cuban-American family living in the same house: a newly divorced former military mother, her teenage daughter and tween son, and her old-school mother.
