Table Runner Materials

  • Fabric
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Measuring Tape or Ruler

NOTE: I'm by no means an experienced seamstress! I know enough to be dangerous! So, there's probably a better/cleaner way to sew a table runner, but this is the way I rolled.

  1. Measure your fabric 17″ wide and as long as you need for your table, adding 2 inches to the measurement for the seam allowance.
  2. Cut the fabric and fold in the edge about 1/2″ and press. Fold the long ends in another 1/2″Black and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldBlack and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorld and press.
  3. On the short edges of the fabric, I wanted a little fatter border, so I folded the fabric in 1/2″ and pressed, and then 2″ and pressed.
  4. Sew the table runner by stitching the long edges first and then folding up the wide shorter edges and stitching those. Press it again if necessary to remove any creases.

Black and White New Year's Eve Tablescape #WaverlyInspirations #InAWaverlyWorldDirections

  1. Wipe all of your glass items with rubbing alcohol. I use those little alcohol pads. Set aside to dry.
  2. Protect your surface with wax paper.
  3. Paint the bottom of the glass plate with Rose Gold (glitter) paint. Let dry 1 hour before applying a second coat and letting that dry 1 hour. You might think the coverage is no good on the first coat, but it almost creates a great primer for the second coat of glitter to stick, and when it's done, it looks gorgeous. Much better in person!
  4. Once dry, apply two coats, letting dry an hour in between each coat, of the Rose Quarts color. Set aside to dry completely.
  5. Paint the following with Rose Quartz (Metallic)paint:
  6. Base of wine glasses – two coats, letting dry 1 hour in between.
  7. Rim of one small glass jar – two coats, letting dry 1 hour in between coats.
  8. Bottom of a small candle – two coats, letting dry 1 hour in between.
  9. Paint the following with Gold (glitter) paint:
  • 1 small glass jar – two coats, letting dry 1 hour in between coats
  • Top portion of small candle, leaving paint irregular if desired.

10. Once all items are painted and dry completely, add the ribbon. Add ribbon to the candle, where the two paint colors meet, wrapping it around the candle, and trimming the excess. Affix with a little dab of hot glue.

11. Wrap ribbon around each small jar and fill with a tealight candle.

12. Place the jars and candle onto the place and sprinkle beads around the jars. Light the candles and set them on your table runner.
