One of my early childhood memories is waking up to the smell of my mother cooking pancakes on Saturday mornings. It was a bit of a tradition in our house, and it is one of the reasons that…for me at least…pancakes are the ultimate breakfast comfort food. They remind me of family, and it doesn't hurt that they taste pretty darn good. Once I had a family of my own, I started making pancakes on the weekend….just like my mom. Now the idea of adding banana and Nutella to the pancakes did not occur to me; This is my middle child's idea. To her, the combination of banana and Nutella is the greatest flavor combination on earth, so when she asked if we could make pancakes using those ingredients I was more than happy to give it a go. Here is the result; I present to you our Banana Nutella Pancakes Recipe!
Whisk all of the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Set aside.
Whisk all of the wet ingredients EXCEPT the Nutella together in a separate bowl.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and slowly add the wet ingredients, whisking until combined. Do not over mix.
Remove 1/2 cup of batter and mix with the Nutella in a separate bowl. Swirl the Nutella batter into the regular batter.
Let the batter rest without stirring it for about 15 minutes. We are giving the baking powder time to do its thing here.
Heat a large nonstick pan over a medium flame. Lightly spray the pan with cooking spray, measure out ΒΌ cup pancakes, and cook. When the edges of the pancakes begin to dry and small bubbles begin to form on the top, flip. Cook another 2-3 minutes and serve. Rinse and repeat with the rest of the batter.
Heat a saute pan over a medium flame. Melt the butter. Add the bananas and cook until they begin to color.
Add the syrup, and cook for another 30 seconds. Remove from the flame.
Pour your banana syrup mixture over a stack of Nutella pancakes. Boom! You have now successfully made the Banana Nutella Pancakes Recipe. Now go eat before everything gets cold. And if you enjoyed the recipe, check out our Pink Spongecake Pancake Recipe. Happy eating!
