Nothing says summer to me like freshly squeezed lemonade. However, my kids really prefer the pink lemonade that I make from concentrate because it really tastes soooo delicious. Check out this recipe for these...
Asian BBQ Brisket Tacos
I was delighted to work with Arby's as they brought back their fabulous Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich. That's right! The Arby's Smokehouse Brisket is back.
Arby’s Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich is loaded with smoky layers. First you’ve got your tender brisket, smoked with real smoke from real fire for at least 13 real hours. Then you’ve got smoked Gouda, mayo and its tangy counterpart, barbecue sauce (inherently smoky)—all garnished with crunchy fried onions and sitting inside a delicious bun.
The sandwich is hearty and delicious.
In honor of the return of the Arby's brisket, we made our own brisket. Check out the recipe below and let us know what you think.
ASIAN BBQ BRISKET
- 5-6# Brisket
- 1 cup low salt soy sauce
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 2/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hoisin
- 1 cup Jack Daniels BBQ sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp fresh ginger
- 3 kaffir lime leaves
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 mandarin orange
- 1 small sweet onion
Place the rice wine vinegar in a food processor or blender with the ginger, kaffir lime leaves, mandarin orange (peel and all), garlic, and onion. Process until everything is puréed. Pour into a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients (except the brisket).
Prepare your grill for an indirect smoke. You want a temperature of 225. Remember, the dome of the grill will be a different temperature than the grill surface.
Throw on the brisket and allow it to cook for around 5 hours. You want to hit an internal temperature of 170 degrees.
Once you hit your temperature, pull the brisket off and wrap it in foil. Brush some of the BBQ sauce on it before you close it up. Put it back on the grill and continue to cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours. You want to hit 195-200 degrees internal temperature.
ASIAN BBQ BRISKET TACOS
This is a fabulous way to use your brisket. The first night we had our brisket with baked potatoes and the second night we made tacos.
For the tacos, you need:
- Sour Cream
- Roasted Corn Salsa
- Corn Tortillas
