We found the Eureka SuctionSeal 2.0 to work extremely well out of the box. There were plenty of attachments for all sorts of cleaning. Its size is comparable to other vacuums on the market and the vacuum is pretty light. We had no problems going up and down stairs.

1. Clean the mess right away.
