As someone who is out in the business world with my own business, I know the importance of having a great name that people can remember. When I shop at businesses, especially small businesses, the more memorable the name, the more likely they are to be top of mind to me.

Name.Kitchen is an online hub that celebrates the art and science of naming. With Name.Kitchen, there is an amazing new world of choice in naming on the Internet. With hundreds of new “not-com” choices available today – everything from .COFFEE to .PIZZA to .LIFE, you can create a memorable and meaningful domain name. In late 2013,  hundreds of new domain endings — words to the right of that second dot — became available for use when crafting the URL for your website. How amazing is that?

When it comes to domain availability, many of us have been increasingly frustrated by the lack of names available or having to add all sorts of hyphens, other characters or create a really long name. I know that when I began the process of searching for a name for my business, I couldn't find one available online. Even though I spent weeks and weeks looking for just the right name for which a domain was also available, I just couldn't find exactly what I wanted. This was such a frustrating experience. That doesn’t have to happen anymore.

These Donuts’ “not-com” names choices are new and that means that the very best names are still available to be registered. Of course, the better names are more memorable names, right? So you need to choose a great name for your business or project and this is where Name.Kitchen comes in. Name.Kitchen can help you out with tips, advice and inspiration to help you jump-start the name brainstorm. Discover these tools, tips and more at http://name.kitchen/naming-tools.

Ahhh, I love it. That is definitely a name I would remember. How smart of them.

  2. The name of a business is probably the most important thing for a business to do. If people can’t remember the business, no matter how good, they won’t come again for the main reason that they can’t remember it.

The name of a website is very important. It must reflect very well its content. However, with so many websites today, it is difficult to find a domain that has not yet been taken. So this is truly a good idea for everyone.

This is a great idea to go a little beyond the standard customization of your web pages online presence. I think your not.com name would have to be very representative of what your business is about. I think mine would be . family.

  21. This sounds so awesome! I started my blog about 3 years ago and at that time as far as I knew there were just the basic boring endings for a domain. I’ve been stuck on blogspot.com ever since, but it’s great to know of all the new options!

  22. This is the first time I have heard of such service. Dotcom’s can get really boring after a while. I would probably get a .fromhome name for myself! 🙂
