The most important people in my life is family. I have my immediate family who are all pretty close to me and those who live with me. My husband has been someone who has supported me no matter what. He has always encouraged to pursue what I was interested in and I have done the same with him.
Almost one year ago, he needed to quit working at the restaurant that he started with his family. He had been working 80-100 weeks for over 20 years and it was honestly taking a toll on him. He missed being with our children and our children really missed him as well.
He made the decision and within a week, everything was final and he was now a stay-at-home dad. I was the sole breadwinner. Not only did that scare me but I really had no idea about the roles that we would play within our household now. For the first month we kind of needed to figure everything out.

Love Is A Gift is a social initiative created by MassMutual to celebrate those who matter most in our lives. This initiative encourages people to make a statement about the transformative power of love by sharing a picture of themselves with those who matter most to them, along with a brief explanation of their relationship.
This initiative is a continuation of the brand’s longstanding partnership with Easter Seals. As a national partner with Easter Seals, MassMutual understands that love can be demonstrated in many different ways. One of those ways is by providing children and adults living with disabilities, their caregivers, and veterans with access to more information, specialists, and financial strategies that can help improve their quality of life.
Because MassMutual believes that all love is valuable and unique, the company wanted to convey the genuine strong bonds people share with one another by highlighting real families by bringing the initiative to life with its Love Is A Gift video.

PARTICIPATE IN LOVE IS A GIFT TO GIVE BACK
For every photo story uploaded or on public Instagram accounts using #LoveIsAGift, MassMutual will donate $5 to Easter Seals, up to $50,000.
Participate in the Love Is A Gift social initiative. Here is what you need to do to join in:
- Find or take a picture of you and the people you love on your computer or mobile device.
- Upload it to your personal Instagram account with #LoveIsAGift or to LoveIsAGift.com, adding a few words about your loved ones and why they matter most.
- Note your Instagram account must be public for your #LoveIsAGift entry to be recognized and trigger a donation.
- Once the photo is uploaded, participants can share their photo and details of the initiative with their friends on Facebook or Twitter.
- Each upload will trigger a $5 donation from MassMutual to Easter Seals, up to $50,000.
Only submissions on Instagram using #LoveIsAGift will be uploaded to http://bit.ly/1vRvg4C. In other words, the hashtag, #LoveIsAGift, is valid on Twitter, but it will not trigger automatic inclusion in the social initiative. Only Instagram or uploads directly to LoveIsAGift.com will count towards the Easter Seals donation.

that’s an awesome opportunity you are giving him by supporting his decision. being a stay at home dad isn’t the norm these days and I’m sure it was so hard to make that change but the kids will cherish these memories later in life.
