Lemon Curd Trifle

Lemon Curd TrifleLemon Curd Trifle

By definition, a “trifle” is something “of little value or importance.” The culinary version of a trifle, however, is far more valuable. Seen in recipes since the sixteenth century, dessert trifles have long been an elegant end to a meal that is both sweet and beautiful. The best trifles are made up of at least three layers of complementary flavors and textures, and this recipe is no different. The lemon is slightly sour yet refreshingly tart, while the whipped cream provides a pleasant, delicious contrast. The wafer cookies offer a “crunch.” For best visual results, make the trifle in a clear dish where all the layers can be seen before being eaten, such as mason jars, glass bowls, or a trifle dish. We hope that you love this Lemon Curd Trifle recipe.

Lemon Curd Trifle

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups lemon curd
  • wafer cookies as needed

Lemon Curd Recipe

Directions

  1. Use my Lemon Curd recipe.
  2. Vigorously blend the heavy cream with the powdered sugar on high speed until stiff peaks form (stiff peaks are present when the whipped cream is firm and holds its shape, instead of sagging, when scooped up).
  3. In a dish, layer the whipped cream with the lemon curd and wafer cookies, starting with the wafer cookies and ending with the whipped cream.
  4. Serve immediately.

PRO TIP: Making this a limoncello trifle by adding 1 tbsp of limoncello to each trifle.
