Cozy Woggle Safety Coat for Kids Review
During a play group event, I heard some parents talk about how your child’s coat could actually be posing a danger to them when used in conjunction with a car seat. I had never thought about my child’s coat as being a hazard, nor did I think it could interfere with the way my child’s car seat works. Luckily, the Cozy Woggle Coat was developed to not only keep kids warm and cozy, but keep them safe in their car seats as well! I was excited to try out this product, and am sharing my findings below!

First, let me tell you a bit about the product. Cozywoggle is an innovative new garment that looks like a traditional coat but can safely be used with any 5-point harness car seat, so it keeps children warm and safe! This idea is thanks to Cherlyn Jenkins who is a certified car seat technician. She wanted to design a coat that would keep kids not just warm but safe. Why? Because she has both a newborn and toddler and thinks about their safety daily.

So how safe is this coat? Crash tests conducted at MGA Research, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration approved lab, have demonstrated that wearing the Cozywoggle while riding in a car seat is as safe as wearing no coat at all. The special side zippers allow your child to get properly buckled in while keeping their bodies covered from the cold. As you can see in the photo below, the unique side zippers are what makes this product different.

While this product is designed for safety, it is also designed for comfort and durability too. The Cozywoggle is made from machine washable, weather resistant polyester and includes a cozy fleece lining for warmth. It comes in sizes18 months, 2T, 3T, 4, 5 and 6. I found that it fits true to size, washes and wears well, and does in fact keep kids quite warm. My child wore his during the 3 degree temperatures we had last week, and it kept him comfortable and protected.

This coat truly is unique, as it is the only coat that is safe to be worn by children while traveling in a car seat, and is proven to be a convenient solution for busy parents. The Cozywoogle comes in Blue/yellow, gray/orange, green, and purple, and at just $59.99. I felt this was a reasonable price considering the quality of the coat as well as the many benefits it provides.
