Celebrating Good and The Happiest Daughter

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of New York Life for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For me, happiness is a state of mind. I consider myself to be a very optimistic person and I tend to see the bright side of everything. I am all about Celebrating Good and my children.

Part of my optimism comes from things like volunteering in my community, giving back whenever I can and teaching my children to do the same. Doing things like giving back makes us all happy.

The “The Happiest Daughter” video tells the story of how all families experience unexpected challenges, but what's important is making the most of it; in fact it can teach you to appreciate life even more.

KEEP GOOD GOING

Keep Good Going is about the idea of perpetuating the personal good that positively affects everyone in your life (your family). It’s the good you want to pass onto others you care about—in big or small ways—because you know how it can positively shape their life experiences.

Good is something that you can teach your kids and New York Life enables you to continue the good in your life by providing life insurance and other financial products so that your children, spouse, etc. can flourish.

MY DRIVE TO KEEP GOOD GOING

One of the reasons that I am so passionate about giving back can be attributed to growing up as a Girl Scout and volunteering through my church.

Another reason is the birth of my third child (pictured above). She was born with a heart defect that required open heart surgery at just four months. This was one of the most challenging times in my life and that of my family.

What I remember through the haze of getting through almost a month in the hospital is the amazing kindness of the volunteers, doctors, nurses and staff. Those people kept me sane and really made me feel like they cared in a time of my life that I needed that more than anything.

My daughter and my experience has truly been the inspiration behind my creating a life full of happiness and love. We have faced challenges and come out as a much stronger family. Every single hour of every single day my children know how much I love and cherish them. I really am raising happy kids. If there is one thing that I hope I am passing down to my children, it's that they should give back whenver they can.

My blog is about living the good life and living a good life is what happy people do so I enjoy sharing with my readers. Living the good is not about spending lots of money rather it is about making the most of what you have every day.

HOW YOU CAN KEEP GOOD GOING

The Keep Good Going Life Lessons are welcome nuggets of wisdom and insight that are derived from life experiences. They are often simple, but always profound because they touch on the truths that hold life together. They are personal (not social or community) good, about you and those close to you. They are communicative of the good that continues in your personal life, and always tie back to New York Life and the products and services they provide.

New York Life is also showing how they perpetuate the good through a digital billboard, which captures and tallies in real-time all of the moments of family good around Mother's Day! New York Life wants to bring even more good to Mother’s Day by allowing you to upload photos of you and your mom and share Tweets with something you’ve learned from her.

Giving back and teaching it to your children is very important. Kids learn by example the easiest and if they see you doing good things they usually will also. Girl/Boy Scouts are great organizations as are many others that promote social responsibility.

  3. We definitely need to raise our kids with giving hearts and generous spirits and this definitely is a program worthy of recognition.
